  Before You Begin

This document explains how to install and configure STPISecure. The process comprises two main steps:

  1. Install Java (if necessary)
  2. Install EFT for SecurePay and SecureTable

  1 – Install Java

The first part of the installation process is to install Java if it is not already installed on your system.

ℹ️

The source document numbers both of the following two procedures “1.1” (Check if Java is Already Installed and Java Installation). Reproduced as printed — the second is likely intended to be “1.2” and the existing “1.2 – Check Java Installation” would then become “1.3”.

1.1 – Check if Java is Already Installed

To avoid installing Java over an existing version, you should check to see if Java is already installed.

To check if Java is already installed:

1

Open a Command Prompt window by clicking on the Windows Start icon and typing cmd.

2

In the Command Prompt window, type java -version (with a space between java and the dash).

The Command Prompt window displays one of two possible messages:

  • Java version “X.Y.Z” (where “X.Y.Z” is the version number): this means Java is already installed and you can go directly to installing EFT.
  • Java is not recognized: this means Java is not installed; follow the Java Installation procedure below.

1.1 – Java Installation

If Java is not installed on your system, use the following procedure to install it.

To install Java on your system:

1

Open a web browser.

3

Click the Download Java button; the JavaSetupXYZ.exe (where XYZ is the version number) file downloads to your computer

4

Locate and double-click the JavaSetupXYZ.exe file to begin the installation.

5

Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

1.2 – Check Java Installation

After you install Java, it is important to confirm that the installation was successful.

To confirm that Java was correctly installed:

1

Open a Command Prompt window by clicking on the Windows Start icon and typing cmd.

2

In the Command Prompt window, type java -version (with a space between java and the dash).

3

If the Command Prompt window displays Java version “X.Y.Z” (where “X.Y.Z” is the version number), Java was correctly installed.

If any other message appears, repeat the Java installation procedure.

💿

  2 – Install EFT

To install EFT for SecurePay and SecureTable, you need a prior installation of Maitre’D on your system.

2

When the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.

3

In the Select Destination Location window, click the Next button.

5

  • STPI Client
  • Client InstallAsService Guide
  • VirtualTerminal
  • RTI-SIPA

6

Click the Next button.

7

In the Select STPI options window, select All Others and then click the Next button.

8

In the Please fill in RTI settings window, enter the IP address of your SecurePay terminal (for pay-at-the-counter only) in the Terminal IP address field and leave the other fields blank.

9

Click the Next button.

10

Click the Install button.

11

In the Welcome to Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup window, click the Next button.

12

In the License Terms window, click the I have read and accept the license terms check box and then click the Install button.

13

When the Setup Complete window appears, click the Finish button.

14

When the Completing the STPISecure Setup Wizard window appears, click the Finish button.

2.1 – Check EFT Installation

After the installation process is complete, it is important to confirm that the installation was successful.

To confirm that EFT was correctly installed:

1

Browse your computer to locate the C:\EFT-RTI folder.

2

Open the C:\EFT-RTI folder and open the properties.ini file in a text editor.

3

The properties.ini file should have the IP address of your terminal listed on the ipAddress line.

4

Confirm that there is an STPI Shortcuts folder on your system’s desktop.
